Chapter 3 Protocol Development

3.1 Creating New Protocols Navigate to: File → New → Protocol

3.2 A complete protocol consists of four sections:

3.2.1 Startup Protocol: Initialization steps

• Set deck temperature (position 6)

• Define user variables, if needed

3.2.2 Main Protocol: Core liquid handling workflow

• Build pipeline using drag-and-drop icons

• Configure step parameters

3.3.2 Cleanup Protocol

3.3.3 Protocol Options: Configuration settings

• Select device file

• Choose associated Form interface, if it would be used in the Form

Important: Check “Use global context for this protocol” if the protocol will be integrated within a Form

3.2 Creating Interactive Forms For user-friendly operation:

Navigate to: File → New → Form

Link buttons the Form to specific protocols

Customize user input fields for protocol variables
